How to Use the Predictor Tests

The Predictor Test is designed to help gauge your readiness to write the CPNRE and to help focus your studying by identifying areas of weakness. If you require a practice test, we recommend you consider the CPNRE Prep Guide.

The Predictor Test is most useful when taken under test-like conditions. You should adhere to the time limit of 2.5 hours and not use any notes or textbooks when taking the test. The prediction of readiness to take the CPNRE will only be meaningful and useful if you follow these instructions and complete the Predictor Test without any assistance.

Predictor Test 1 and Predictor Test 2 contain completely different questions, but are similar in difficulty. Both tests contain case-based and independent multiple-choice questions. Depending on your situation, the two tests can be used together or separately. When taken at the same time, greater precision in gauging your readiness to write the CPNRE is achieved. This may be most informative for candidates who have only a short period of time before the CPNRE administration date. In contrast, when the two tests are taken separately, the results of the first test can be used to develop a more focused program of study. After studying for some time, the second Predictor Test could then be completed to re-assess your readiness to write the exam and provide additional focus for studying prior to your examination date.
