The new CPNRE Classroom Assessment is a comprehensive 100-question test that can be
used by educators to assess students and gauge their readiness to write the Canadian
Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE). The test will also help
students to focus their studying by identifying areas in which they are weak.
It provides a student’s total score and their probability of passing the CPNRE,
as well as the student’s score in each of the competency categories. All
questions are available in both English and French.
The CPNRE Classroom Assessment is a short version of the national examination.
It is created using the same methods as the CPNRE and the questions in the Classroom
Assessment have all been used on previous administrations of the CPNRE.
This tool is similar to the current CPNRE Predictor Test with the following
exceptions:
The test is not available for purchase by individual students. Only educators can purchase this test;
Unlike the CPNRE Predictor Test, students will not be able to review the individual test questions to see which ones they answered correctly and incorrectly;
The test must be administered in a proctored environment such as a school computer lab.
To assist educators, Canada’s Testing Company is pleased to provide guidelines on how to administer the CPNRE Classroom Assessment in a secure environment.
